The BMW iX xDrive 40 is BMW's second electric vehicle following on from the success of the now eight-year-old i3. Being BMW's so-called "technology flagship", the iX is loaded with advanced driving features, most of which live in the eye-catching front grilles. Range on the iX xDrive 40 is modest in comparison to some of its competitors having a range of 425 km.

Charging the BMW iX xDrive 40 from zero to full is said to take just over 11 hours using a 7.4kW home charge point. At a 150kW rapid charging point, the BMW iX will charge from 10% - 80% in around 34 minutes.
Due to the bigger battery, charging the BMW iX xDrive 50 takes a bit longer with an empty to full charge taking almost 17 hours using a 7.4kW wall charger. Using a 200kW rapid charger, the iX xDrive 50 will charge from 10-80% in around 37 minutes.
