Charging Guide
Smaller and more affordable than its siblings, the Model S and Model X, Tesla’s Model 3 wants to take the electric car revolution to the masses. Don’t let the minimalist car interior fool you – the Model 3 includes one of the best in-car entertainment systems around with its 15-inch touchscreen taking centre-stage. The Model 3 Long Range lives up to its name and offers a huge range of 560 km, which means most people would likely only need to charge it once a week. The Model 3 Long Range is still blisteringly quick, completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in as little as 4.6 seconds. Safety is almost unrivaled too, with the Model 3 achieving a perfect 5-star rating from Euro NCAP.
Charging time for the Tesla Model 3 Long Range is about 11 hours and 45 minutes from empty to full. A dedicated 7.4kW charge point (like those below) will add about 48 km of range per hour, so a simple overnight top-up using the Tesla Wall Connector or another charger will usually be enough. Rapid charging is quick using the CCS connection, with a 10-80% charge possible within 30 minutes.
